Sailing cruises all differ
from each other. When you are on board horizons change
and you land in new places every time. New emotions are always
at hand: a good reason for setting sail and experiencing
life at sea.
A cruising holiday means no hurry, no
fixed destination, no deadline to comply with.
Unlike other means of transport, a sailing boat is not necessarily intended for travelling from one place to another. It's a pleasant experience not only because you sail following natural rhythms. But also because you can reach a specific bay, dive in crystal waters, have lunch under bimini shade, wake up at the wild cry of seagulls while the waves break on the shore.
Travelling, sailing, sharing life on board: that's the real aim of a sailing cruise. In this way a sailing boat becomes a self-sufficient world where everyone takes his part in making voyage a success.
Sailing has an advantage: it's quite
like a meditative practise helping clearing your mind
and making you rediscover the essential nature of things.
When you are afloat, you only need really useful things.
A sailing holiday really differs from
one on land because ot its life-system. That's why we
say "we are all on the same boat". Actually, everyone
on board gets the same amount of comfort and inconvenience.
During a sailing holiday personal relations become deeper
than on land and they can end up in close friendship or
hostility.
The skipper has the duty to look after
crew relationships. He establishes the rules and checks
for the evolution of moods on board.
A thing you need to take into account on a sailing
boat is consumption optimization. Electricity
consumption has to be limited when not strictly necessary.
The same with water supply. Cruising really teaches you
to avoid unnecessary waste!
